My vacation has been cut short this year.
I intended this summer to take a tour of the coldest place in the world, as I did last year. My tour began pleasantly enough in the tourist town of Lufthavnsvejen, in Greenland. The airport in this town was somewhat smaller than I expected:
However, given the low population of Greenland, I suppose I had my expectations a bit too high.
I checked in to the Hotel Arctic:
It is a pleasant enough hotel, if a bit plain. The service was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Lufthavnsvejen.
After checking in and getting a feel for the lay of the land, I began exploring my surroundings. Lufthavnsvejen is known for its beautiful ice floes, so I set out with my selfie drone and proceeded to explore:
Unfortunately, I flew rather too close to the water, and I made an unscheduled landing:
A rescue boat found me moments later, and took me to Ilulissat Hospital. Unhappily, the doctor there refused to do much more than hydrate me, as he was a specialist in human medicine. I was obliged to seek out treatment at a veterinary office in Canada.
