My cousin just filed an assault charge on my littlest [biggest] cousin, who smashed him right in the jaw. On several different occassions. But it had just happened. It's a bit like rape. The evidence wears off pretty fast, so prolly too late.
As for your parents, I've thought of the same thing. For me, I just take damages for pain and suffering, from them. What little they can provide. They had children on a faulty basis, never considering things could go horribly wrong. Sheer negligence, if I've ever heard of it.
You could sue. But you'd be wrongfully laughed out of court, most likely.
