I would say it is human nature to always want more. We chase and chase until we realize that what we needed was always right in front of us from the beginning...
Dammit, I sound like a corny movie.

It's human nature. It stems from fear and self-preservation. We mistake more possessions and achievements for more security. Nature can be changed and can change spontaneously after awareness and once it is no longer benefitial
Probably.

As to whether or not human nature exists is a bit baffling to me, on one hand it makes perfect sense for humanity to have the drive to pursue more and more however in the end i think the thought process can be very self destructive if left unabated. Then again if we didn't have this drive to pursue more would we even be here asking the questions in the first place?

I believe human nature is the pursuit of happiness. Its what we all really want. But defining what an individuals happiness is/would be... is extremely complicated.
So yes to ur question... and what makes a person happy is a whole other question?
