Does Trump really think attacking China is really going to help solve his North Korea problem ?

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
I think it's become pretty clear that the Trump presidency is going to be one of spouting your mouth off at home and being on your best behaviour when abroad.
It's looking more and more as if he'll be as impotent as Obama was in terms of jobs trade and moving the economy forward.

@Ynotisay: '08 when the recession hit and it took both America and Europe two years to declare it as one !
Obama's Presidency was about trying to steady the ship through difficult waters, which he did reasonably well, considering.
Trump's saving grace (if he has one) is that he is not a politician.
That means he'll appeal to business people IF he can get a budget and keep his party in line behind him.
But so far all we've heard is 'we hate these countries so here's a travel ban'.
No foreign policy. No economic policy. Just a re-hash of somebody else's idea for a healthcare plan which has already been rejected by low income earners.

@Picklebobble2: OK. But I think you're holding up the problem as the solution. Big business, as in corporations and banks, are RESPONSIBLE for the economic hardships. And pretty much ALL Trump has done to date is rescind executive orders intended to level the playing field. He's working FOR the very people out for themselves in lieu of the best interests of the citizens? The GOP Congress? Things like pushing through legislation to cripple Dodd-Frank, which was a protective shield for "regular Americans" isn't intended to help anyone but the banks. Their healthcare reform? It's about ONE thing and that's providing tax cuts to the very people who have been gaming the system and increasing the disparity in wealth.
So sorry man but I don't see inmates running the asylum as being a 'saving grace.'

It's the banks that need a short leash i agree.
As for the healthcare thing. Until they take the insurance companies out of it they'll never get it to work.
They know what they need to do and that's set it up at government level. Get everybody to contribute (yes. That's a tax ! Deal with it !) and regulate it as such.
Otherwise you go round and round and you have non-elected lunatics running the asylum, NOT those elected ! where the voters can do something about it

So Trump did not attack China and this is just Fake News ? Which is it ?
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@Subsumedpat: That's probably because your American and I'm English 🙂
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@Dlrannie: Well now I had to look up the news to see what you were talking about what he did was criticize China for a 40% increase in trade with North Korea instead of taking actions to dissuade North Korea from their ambition to create a viable intercontinental nuclear missile. That is probably not considered Attack in England either. Just strong blunt talk. I only bring it up because it does no good to go overboard trying to describe Donald Trump all it does is cause his supporters to say, she is just attacking Trump because she does not like him blowing things out of proportion.

@Subsumedpat: You are of course entitled to your opinions as I am to use words that I feel justified - if Trump supporters draw certain conclusions the that is their choice.
CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
If there's one thing he's made clear, it's that he doesn't really understand geopolitics but knows he has the biggest gun. So dangerous combination, but I literally have no idea what's going to happen there. Too many variables.
Ynotisay · M
It's pretty clear at this point that he doesn't have any real policy opinions or insight. So what he thinks has been rendered moot. It's the people around him who will call the shots.

Trump attacked China ? When ?
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@Subsumedpat: Verbally not physically 🙂
