Why can't the Republican Party be abolished?

@VioletRayne: Without platforms how would you know who you wanted to vote for? It would basically be a popularity or beauty contest.

@katielass: The individuals create their own platforms. It isn't a popularity contest now?!? Sure had me fooled.

@VioletRayne: It's not a popularity contest among me and my friends. Perhaps it is for some but nothing is perfect. And suppose two candidates developed the same platform? How are you going to decide between the two? Suppose two candidates develop the same platform and you don;t like it? You gonna sit it out? There are lots of problems with both parties but it's the best way. You at least know what each stands for and you can decide to support or not.

@katielass: no you don't know what each stands for and the problem of multiple peoples with the same platform is easy to solve have a preliminary then a main election. This is not the best way. It is outdated. It needs to be revamped
