Do you have your guard up with people?

People can be so smooth, so deceptive and just great on paper/online, but truly, patterns of behavior seem to weave the entire story much more accurately.

But how do you recognize those patterns before its too late?

@NewKidInTown: Partly intuition...don't ignore the red flags. Often people want to be with someone so badly that they sacrifice what appear to be little things, but ultimately those little things repeated spell big warning signs. Also, note the abnormalities of what would generally be the expected type of behavior. EX: If you are doing all of the asking about another, but little interest is expressed in trying to get to know you, this is a red flag. In most cases, the desire to know you never comes. Watch for excuses for why one can't do this or that and quick rash behavior too. These are just a few. Hope this helps.

@OWise1: Thank you for the thorough response. Sounds like you are speaking from experience, unfortunately.

@NewKidInTown: That and intuition and being a very old soul who can size up a situation with the snap of my fingers. BTW, you're welcome. :)

@OWise1: well, you are a wise Owl, after all.
PS I didnt know Owls had fingers🤔
OWise1 · F
@NewKidInTown: We envision them and make them snap 🤗 lol
Above all, don't sacrifice your integrity out of desperation. Embrace who you are and never ever settle. :)

@OWise1: Integrity is the one thing that isn't for sale or sacrifice, oh wise and magical finger snapping Owl

lol re: the owl comment...well the core issue with it all appears to be that people don't know how to love themselves enough to be able to garner that same love and respect from others. The concept of loving oneself is tough to wrap your head around...it's called self-respect, knowing one's own worth and realizing what that means in terms of a match. If you settle for less than you are, then you will diminish your own value and well, the rest is what it is...kapish?

@OWise1: Absolutely. How can one love another when they dont love themself? Its a recipe for disaster for both parties.
OWise1 · F
@NewKidInTown: Exactly! Plus many rely on others to love them instead of valuing the time with one another and learning one another's love language so to speak. Who would think the most beautiful emotion on the planet could be so evaluative and full of such analysis? lol

@OWise1: Its so easy and complicated at the same time. But like anything worth its salt, takes time and effort to mine its finest qualities.
Goodnight, O wise Owl.
I hope we can chat again soon :)
