Not on a very big issue but yes. Makes you want to cease all relationships.

@itjustbegan: It does exactly...but the best thing is just handle people with long handle spoons...at best be careful with what you tell them. If it is something you would not want anyone else to know...then DO NOT tell them. Period~!!!!! People just can't be trusted in general....And when you do find such a soul...you have found a treasure!!!!

Yeah but sometimes I just think what if by not trusting someone I denied them an opportunity to get helped, etc..

@itjustbegan: You can help people without telling them things you don't want others to know. I didn't say do not trust them at all. I said be careful what you tell them The friend that's listening today could be your enemy tomorrow spilling it all....

When I posted this question I had in mind what happened to me today.
I got a call from people claiming to be from NGO. They said there was a burnt baby of age 1.5 years and money was needed for her treatment. So I told them to give details on whatsapp and I'll donate. On research I found that this story is true but there's a huge possibility that these people and many other people use these real life cases to earn money for themselves. They try to fool us to get money from us. Since this story is used by them for like 15 days till date and everytime they try to force you to donate within minutes.
But the natural response at such situations is to help people.

P.S. NGO means non Governmental organizations meant to help people.

@itjustbegan: I understand...I was talking on a more personal level of being betrayed..What you are talking about I call scamming or being conned... :D
Transformedandevolved · 26-30, M
Of course. Yes i see. So what do you do in such situations?
SW-User
@itjustbegan: Well not much you can do but pull away from the betrayer. That is unless you want it to happen again and again. If you are talking about the the scammers...just listen to your instinct...and remember it is better to give to a scammer that is playing you than to not give to someone that is truly in need. If I have it, I usually give to all that ask me on a personal basis...even if it is someone with a sign in the street, but it is small money...I think the most I gave a so called homeless girl was about $40.00 If someone is taking up money for a motel or food, I usually give them several dollars...

@itjustbegan: And of course neither one of them make you feel good! :(

Yes that is the instinct. To donate is what instinct. Or I am not connected with my instincts lol.

Yes that is what i was thinking. Better to get conned. It feels foolish though.
