That's a new term to me. But yeah, I think I do consider people "mutuals" more than friends. Though I have had people who I met online that I considered real friends.
I guess what other people call "mutuals" I refer to as familiar acquaintances or friendly acquaintances.

I see what you mean. I guess I just see it weird when there's people who see really close but don't consider eachother friends. I am also really picky with people who get close to me so your either my friend or your no one to me. I guess I am jusy weird like that.

@PaulMcCartney: I'm the same way. I guess some people are more social butterflies and "click" with people easier, even if they don't necessarily feel a deeper connection with them.

I guess it's just weird to me because I consider people my friends and I feel like they feel that our friendship is somehow not valid. Also I see others call others their mutual when I think of them as friends and I think they were above being mutuals.
