i have a tip for all the younger ppl.

over the years of working many jobs,i have learned if your supervisor is always happy&smiling beware.the mean ones you know where you stand.but when the nice one turns on you ,the smile was covering the anger &hostility,it will happen.so never fall into their snare.

Its why i never befriended any supervisor i ever had.. they can turn on you in an instant ie: layoff/fired and suddenly that "friendship" means nothing
