Why do animals like me so much?

It's nice because I love them, but I can't count the number of times I go to someone's house and their pet snuggles me or sits by me and they say the animal never does that to anyone else. Lol spooky.

Animals can sense emotion.

Dogs can feel that you're instinctively a dog lover.

They can sense your internal serenity. They can sense fear, happiness and sadness. They, like humans, are big on first impressions. They form incredible long term bonds. That's why, in so many ways, they are truer and more loving than humans.

Dogs are very perceptive they know who the good people are and they can also smell fear. Their hearing, as you may already know, is also very acute and they may hear kindness in peoples voices. The words "good dog" have a reaction that we can see. Dogs are cool. I don't doubt that cats may be much the same.

combination of your smell and you don't pay them much attention so they don't think you're a predator after them.
