Why is it when two people have different opinions, one party always starts with the name calling?

Just wondering.

It just shows the lack of conviction and their inability to state a logical reason for their point of view.
That's what's so worrying when you get on to topics of politics or religion.
People hold ideas and dogma as unquestionable.
So when somebody DOES actually question them on it, they feel like they are being personally attacked.
Some folk can reason, others gets abusive.

Its called *this escalated quickly* lol
It's an emotional response, we can all be emotional sometimes, but we should also strive to overcome this and be as objective as possible.
If you tend to have a very Manichean approach to life, it may prove very difficult.

Personal attacks generally means the person has a weak argument/opinion and cannot come up with anything meaningful on the issue at hand.

I don't get it either. Why not stick to the matter to sort out with logic or compromise. When this starts, things start to fall.

Any one starts it, is the shallower one. Keep it to content not person.
