What are some successful strategies older women have used to meet quality partners, despite the challenges in the dating pool?

I'm from Finland and I would love to visit the USA someday, but I'm a little bit worried about my own honesty and directness. What should I answer if somebody wants to chat with me or try to have small talk?
I work a full-time job and build my blog after work, but traffic is still very low. How long should I continue before deciding whether the blog is worth it?
