How can saying "no" to certain job expectations during an interview actually improve my chances of getting hired?

I've never met a conservative who wanted "liberal views" of any kind, in any way, ever in their lives, not in my family, not at work, not ever. Why do people blindly pretend otherwise?
Why would Trayon White insist on his innocence after being caught accepting bribes in exchange for using his elected position to help extend city contracts for his associate's businesses?
