I used to know every single Metallica song word for word from every album and up to the black album. Then Garage Inc. came out and I wasn't into Metallica like I was when in my teen years, but there's a few songs they sung that were already done by others, Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, Turn the Page, I knew several Nirvana songs word for word and Stone Temple Pilots Vasoline and Interstate Love Song and then Black Hole Sun. I grew up with all that. So yeah, there's quite a few songs I know word for word. Now I listen to country music, really enjoying Zach Top songs (can't think of my favorite one right now cause Turn the Page is in my head lol)

Long, long time ago
I can still remember how the music used to
make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
that I could make those people dance
and maybe they’d be happy for awhile
But February made me shiver
with every paper I’d deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn’t take one more step
I can’t remember if I cried
when I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
the day the music died
So bye bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee
but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
singing "this will be the day that I die,
This will be the day that I die…"

I grew up on Long Island so we were required by law to know the words to every Billy Joel song , except we didn’t start the fire .
In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
I am leaving
I am leaving
But the fighter still remains
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
I am leaving
I am leaving
But the fighter still remains

Hello Darkness my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, ’n’ how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, ’n’ how many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they’re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Goodnight you moon light ladies,
rock-a-bye sweet baby James
Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose,
won't you let me go down in my dreams?
And rock-a-bye sweet baby James
