Why is it so tough for English speakers to pick up languages like Danish or Dutch even though they're all Germanic languages?

Scientists don't know why I experience this specific sensation rather than another because of the hard problem of consciousness. Knowing how nerve cells fire does not tell us why that firing comes with a personal point of view. Will we ever find out?
