Try to do both... You don't want to be struggling when you're older

Unfortunately there isn't really a clear answer here. I didn't really accomplish either. I was shy and exclusive and instead of saving I was helping support family and friends. I think I'm at a point where I wish I would have had more financially discipline then though I wouldn't have wanted to just abandon people.

I wish I had done more of both. But I'm also wishing I could get out and live more now. The desire to do so didn't fade with age. Had I been more financially disciplined I'd probably be able to do a lot more now

Save save ! It’s in your later years you will be thankful that you have it to enjoy.

It's better to go live now. I waited until my late 30's and now I'm super behind. I wish I had not been so responsible early on because it didn't do me any good anyway. Enjoy. Live. Experience. There's always ways to make it.

There is no reason you cannot do both. Do something so you are not always broke

I was broke ass till my parents inherited money when I turned 28. I went out 3-5 nights a week, but on a broke ass budget. I would literally make 400-500 a week and spend about 100 going out. Back then you could have plenty of fun on .89 gas and 2.50 drinks. The 90s were more wild time for clubbing into the early 2000s.

You could do a working holuday. Travel to somewhere where you are allowed to work. You are earning and seeing new places at the same time.

That is a great question. I did lots of the fun and less of the saving. I would stay debt free, buy a home if you're inclined. Try to find a side hustle. Do make sure to party it up some though;) Your 20s are your best decade of life often times.

I think you should get out there and live a little since you spent your early 20s reclusive, but really there's no wrong way to live your life as long as you're doing something that makes you happy. ^^

Do whatever you feel most comfortable with. You can travel and experience new things without breaking the bank.

Why can you not do both???

Within reason, you should be able to both put aside cash for later in life as well as saving up to get out there and experience things. It might mean that it takes that bit longer between experiences, but it gives you time to really plan and anticipate whatever you're going to do.

If I could go back and give my younger self some advice, it would be to spend more time on hobbies that don't cost a fortune...🤔

It's very individual. I'd say if you are overall healthy, I mean physically and mentally, it's better to get out there and experience the life. Otherwise take it in a slower lane, try to fix what you can first. Small, safer adventures, etc.
Also depends if you have support in your family so you'd have someone to lean on in case things go wrong.

Can’t you do both in moderation? I wouldn’t advise either in extremes.
