I went to a wildlife refuge recently with the intention of looking for more plants/bugs to identify (this has become a hobby as of late) and look at who I stumbled across!

Here is a little known fact that I discovered in my nature ramblings: Trumpet vines are OFTEN companion plants to poison ivy! The two seem to like one another! The hummingbirds that love the trumpet flowers don't seem to be bothered by the poison ivy!

@4meAndyou Oh my gosh, I had no idea. Good for the hummingbird, though. Does that make them unsafe for people to touch?

@Sorceress Nope. But you SHOULD be aware that poison ivy might be UNDER the trumpet vine plant or quite near! ANOTHER companion plant to poison ivy is Jewel Weed, which also has tiny orange flowers.
