Are you surprised that World Cup tourists found Americans to be hospitable?

What is this source of "enlightenment" so many speak of and say it can take years to attain? I'm old and would like to know if I'm anywhere near it.
Has the US Administration just told the sporting world that any sporting competition being run in the US that their Constitution overrides all and any rules laid down by the competition organizers?
