We, and most of our homes, are attuned to more comfortable temperature; in fact needing heating more than cooling, for a large part of the year.
Many of our commercial and public-service buildings have long used air-conditioning, sometimes with reversible heat-pumps to augment the heating in Winter, but it's rare in houses.
