What's an example of fact-finding, non-partisan efforts in the United States to restore public confidence?

Should white privilege be changed to non-black privilege since Asian people get a tremendous amount of privilege also especially when it comes to bank practices and the judicial system?
Why do toxic partners stay so long knowing they don’t want the other, yet they stay till the one being abused finally leaves? Are they just cowards or do they have another motive for staying so long?
