Does a person's mindset matter more than their social connections when they are trying to get rich?

Why are humans not born with GPS system based on Dharma and Karma? One has to first come to the realization that the system is needed, then has to self manufacture and install within one's self, keep upgrading till the destination is reached?
Why does the United States like to interfere in the internal affairs of various countries so much? Does it do a lot of good for America? Isn't peaceful development more conducive to faster global progress?
