Why do some military police seem to let authority go to their heads, and how does this affect their relationships with others on base?

Does democracy “level down”? Critics say a professor’s vote counts the same as a manual worker’s. A friend joked it depends on the professor—maybe a worker’s vote is worth more than a philosophy or gender studies professor’s. Thoughts?
