How do gun owners respond to being blamed for gun violence by anti-gun advocates?

Does he think a plutonic friendship would be a lie because we love each other? Surely, if we don't overstep certain lines it would be acceptable to have contact - to write, to call - not frequently - and only as friends. Wouldn't that be honourable?
