Is it worth addressing past family conflicts before they escalate, or should you just let sleeping dogs lie?

Is anyone else terrified of money going completely digital? If this happens I'm afraid we are headed straght into a 1984 nightmare. We are already halfway there, but losing tangible money would definitely be the nail in the coffin.
We think we humans are the stars, the main players on the Earth stage. Why, as shown in my answer, must we set aside this self-exaltation if we are ever to make a better us and better world?
