Why is it routine for Democrats to project all their own flaws and wrongdoings onto President Donald Trump?

Do we encourage the youth of today to think "inside the box" because the box has tons of stuff that could not possibly be known in one lifetime and discourage weirdness and celebrating it? Or do we still encourage them to think "outside the box"?
