Have you ever had a moment where being kind to someone who wronged you led to a surprising outcome?

Why is it that less people are mean to me in online games? And why is it that more people are mean to me in real life? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
They never talk to me. They just move around the area and do Harry Potter stalking, then wear me out with my words that have no power. Is it depression?
