Why do some people believe that getting arrested during protests is actually protecting everyone's rights?

Why do people often assume it's acceptable for adult children to cut off parents, even from loving homes, but criticize parents for distancing themselves from their kids?
How many sane and intelligent people are sick and tired of the protest and protesters in Minneapolis? They are desperately seeking attention and destroying their country and city, what's the end result of that insanity we are witnessing on t.v.?
