Compassion. It's a rare quality today unfortunately.
I once gave a pair of boots to a homeless man along with a whole bunch of cleaning socks. The boots were too big for me yet were given as a gift.
He had no shoes at all. Had rags wraped around his feet. The extra socks were just incase it was too big for him as well.

I've been very fortunate all of my life to have never had to experience such tragedies. I have no idea how I would have ever been able to cope with them. It's wonderful that you were successful. May you always continue to have good luck.

Sometimes bc it's cold and often for the purposes of reintegration. A lot of places have programs where they help the homeless and others with trying to get not only GEDs but just jobs in general and other stuff. They obviously don't have presentable clothes most of the time for an interview so sometimes they give them that.

Around here the homeless dress better than the rest of us! Churches and gov offices give them new stuff on a regular basis.

Most people do it because they want to get rid of them. Clothes, not the homeless.
