When you consider your own past actions, what is the hardest truth you've had to accept about yourself in any relationship?

Why do some people feel that U.S. politicians, regardless of party, are seen as untrustworthy or self-interested, especially in terms of trade policies?
The US "No Kings" rallies were well attended, peaceful, and perhaps moderately impactful. But what does it mean when such a protest gains empathetic support by their being similar rallies in other countries?
