What specific challenge or opportunity facing your community is often overlooked by those outside of it?

How can I make a friend feel comfortable to open up to me with honesty, even about the bad things? We’re going to be flatmates soon and I want to be sure we won’t fight about things and have it end up hurting the relationship.
