Should billionaires and big corporations be taxed more so that farmers in America can be supported?

The conservatives on the Supreme Court seem very invested in transferring as much power as possible to the Executive branch. Are they somehow convinced that a Democrat won't be elected some day and go to town with all that power? Why?
If it turns out more Democrats commit politically-motivated crimes, what do people expect to happen next? Would it really change anything?
