Why must everyone assume/believe that life is supposed to align with their ideals and beliefs or it must be destroyed completely?

Why is Donald Trump less crazy and more reserved/humble/tolerant/logical/less conspiracy theory driven when he was younger (like his 20s/30s/40s), or is he mostly the same now as he was then?
