How do people who aren't good with relationships cope with living alone?

Why isn't it fair to hold anger towards my friend and the girl who chose him over me?
Why does my ex-partner for 16 years keep telling me he loves me when I know he been going back with his ex sexually and emotionally? All I want is for him to be honest as I want him be happy.
