Did you know that the halo effect suggests that the first impression of someone can influence other characteristics of them?

I’m not a native English speaker but I’ve an ex-friend who used to always say English terms to me that hard & only native speakers would know and he would constantly criticize me and would never contact me or come to see me. What's wrong with him?
