Why do citizens in countries with universal healthcare feel more secure about their future medical needs, especially as they age?

Donald Trump's popularity seems to be waning in the US. Even a former friend and supporter (Musk) has abandoned him and openly criticized him. Is this the beginning of the end for the man who dreamed of making America "Great Again"?
