How can introverted managers be effective at networking in large industry events?

I can't stand living in Canada anymore. Why has life here become so bad?
As a staff member of a nursing home or assisted living facility, what do you say to families who seen "in the TV news" that places like yours abuse elderly residents and that's partly why they refuse to put their loved one in your care?
