How do you handle the feeling of not being able to repay the kindness of people who help you while living overseas?

What can I do to ease the pain I am feeling? My boyfriend and I communicated about the things we lack but whenever it's turn for him, he immediately thinks that breaking up is the best solution for it. Is he right or I am just wasting my time?
I am 18. Can I get a girlfriend if I am in good shape, have no job but enough money, have no car but a driver's license and have my own home and study law?
