Is the yen considered a 'safe haven' currency during times of crisis and turmoil, similar to gold or the US dollar?

How did society develop a negative attitude towards individuals who strive for change, while politicians and business executives are often criticized for their inaction?
How do I pick a college in the UK? Like right after secondary for my A-Levels. My teachers are useless at explaining and my parents never went so they have no clue. So I'm just super lost.
