How do waitresses pull off that bright, bubbly demeanor so well?

Are you guys genuinely happy or just a world class actor?

When you’re in your 20s, people treat you like you’re committing a crime if you aren’t happy go lucky.

I feel fundamentally defunct as a woman because I’m not like that. And if I do try to force a smile, I look like I’m being held hostage

I can receive a compliment and yet still sometimes struggle to smile. I’m tired of causing people to feel awkward/unliked when they’re talking to me. So what’s the secret? Coke? Caffeine shot straight through the veins?

I have no experience in being a waiter or waitress but I have a lot of experience in playing "happy" 🤷

Idk what works for others but I just joke a bit & talk to people like we're already friends
