I have a strong tie with you regarding your username. I am a huge fan of the Blues Brothers, and I even have a Bluesmobile. But you, as a Blues Brother, do not seem to remember the scene about the Illinois Nazis. Do you remember the scene and do you understand that the Blues Brothers regarded Christian beliefs over Communist beliefs?

The orphanage excuse gave them license to break laws left and right and cause massive destruction. Inside the story, how much money did they deliver to the orphanage? $5000, right?? And, inside the story, as about 100 police cars get damaged, what's the cost of that to cities and towns of southern Illinois? Maybe $10,000 per vehicle??

So, roughly a million dollars worth of damage to deliver $5000 - does that seem righteous to you?? Or just good parody??

@ElwoodBlues You make no sense. It was a movie. They did not make the movie to get $5000 to pay the taxes for the orphanage. It was just part of the movie. But the theme of the movie was, We Are On A Mission From God. The second movie was, God Works in Mysterious Ways. To say the movie was not rooted in some kind religion is false, and to portray yourself as Elwood when you would be better as the leader of the Illinois Nazi's.

I'm saying that inside the story the Blues Brothers used religious jargon to rationalize lawbreaking and destruction on a massive scale. The story is actually saying "look at all the damage people do in the name of religion."

@ElwoodBlues Movies are made all the time involving destruction and money costing situations. Movies are made to make money by spending money, but just like a movie, a play, or a song. They have one or more message(s) they are trying to send. Clearly the movie was about religion and Blues music.

The mall they drove the car through was scheduled for demolition. They were going to destroy it anyway. As far as all those police cars, they would have all gone to auction and sold for $300 a piece, I wish I could have bought one. What else did they destroy?
