Hey, Kool Thing, come here, sit down beside me, there's something I got to ask you. I just want to know, what are you gonna do for me?

I mean, are you gonna liberate us girls from male white corporate oppression?
Kool Thing enters, strutting confidently, catching the attention of GlitterEater, who sits at a nearby table.

Kool Thing: (with exaggerated flair) Ah, fair GlitterEater, come hither and grace me with thy presence. I hath a query that weighs heavy upon my soul.

GlitterEater: (curiously) Speak, Kool Thing, what dost thou wish to inquire of me?

Kool Thing: Dost thou intend to free us maidens from the shackles of male white corporate tyranny? Shall thou be our liberator in this great struggle?

GlitterEater: (playfully) Verily, Kool Thing, thou dost pose a most intriguing question. But fear not, for though the road be fraught with peril, our friendship shall remain steadfast.

BlueGreenGrey, a troubadour of the café, interjects with a comment.

BlueGreenGrey: (musing to themselves) Ah, Ciccone Youth, a splendid choice indeed.

GlitterEater: (to BlueGreenGrey) Fear not, good troubadour, for our discourse shall not falter. Let us delve deeper into the realms of melody and rhythm.

BlueGreenGrey: (enthusiastically) Aye, let us traverse the sonic landscapes of shoegaze and beyond. Behold, the harmonies of Lush and the transcendence of Swervedriver beckon us forth.

GlitterEater: (with a mischievous glint) And lo, even the fiercest Deftones track doth resonate with the essence of shoegaze, a paradoxical symphony of aggression and introspection.

The café buzzes with lively conversation as the trio continues their banter, exploring the realms of music and friendship amidst the backdrop of Verona's quaint charm.

I'm not so much a fan/ Massive respect for them and their influence though.

When I saw them live, the support band said it was an honour to support them. Did I mention that I've seen them live? I saw Sonic Youth live.

@Burnley123 completely agree, Lush is a fave in particular

@BlueGreenGrey I like this band as a rock/soul. shoegaze crossover. It's a tragedy that they got dropped after the second album.

@Burnley123 haven't heard this band in ages

Your description makes me think of A.R. Kane and then the related act MARRS

A couple of bands I liked which kind of transcended the shoegaze label were Swervedriver and Curve

Strangely, of all things, one particular Deftones track (Minerva) seems like a hard version of shoegaze to me

I just want you to know that we can still be friends
definitely one of their best tracks

@Burnley123 definitely top 5, then Thurston Moore's contribution to the Guitarrorists complilation and his "duets" with avant-garde jazz drummer William Hooker are pretty cool too (see also Glenn Branca)

Kim, Thurston and Lee (unexpectedly acoustic, no less), all each appeared with their own individual solos on the Guitarrorists compilation
