How did your quality sleep improve over the years?

What ONE THING made your sleep quality much better? How do I improve the quality of my sleep?
It has been stated many times that sleep is an important part of fitness. I do feel like I don’t get enough sleep. So I downloaded a sleep app and started measuring my sleep. Based on the last 10 days I get an average of 6 hours and 18 minutes of sleep 59% of it is Deep sleep based on 6 cycles. Looking at the graphs, the patterns seem very similar. My sleep times and times I wake up during the night and in the morning seem to be very consistent.
In the past I have tried:
Melatonin before I sleep, but it just makes me sleepy and have less energy the next day.
B6 and Zink, but my dreams are so vivid that I wake up tired. What are your tips to improve the quality of sleep? What are some simple things that improved your sleep quality greatly?
I recently received a pillow spray from my mom for Easter. It's got Vetivert, ylang ylang, lavendar and geranium essential oils and smells lovely. I think it's improved my sleep .
