What could your parents have done better when raising you?
Do you think your parents could have done a far and much better job as a parent in raising you up? Do you think they fulfilled that role the way they should have? What would you change about the way your parents raised you? Do you think your parents did a good job raising you?

Hi guys, Following on from the earlier thread about parents walking out. Let's hear it from the kid's perspective. Do you think your parents did a good job being parents and are you okay with it? I've always thought of my parents as demigods until I realised they were cheating, lying and emotionally abusive. Sometimes I look at them and wish they would be good role models. Do you think your parents raised you well? How do you think their decisions made up you as a person. would you copy the parenting traits for your kids in the future? What's something your parents did right raising you? Where did they go wrong about your education? What do you believe your parents did right while raising you?
I have young kids- interested to see what I haven't thought of yet for how to raise 'em right. How did your parents do a bad job of raising you? How will you raise your child differently than the way your parents raised you? What thing that your parents taught you are you making sure that you unlearn so you don’t pass it on to your child?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently - granted my parents were really abusive in a lot of ways which I know isn’t everyone’s experience, but the main thing I keep thinking is that I look down at my baby and I can’t imagine teaching him that he exists to make my life easier, and that he “owes” me for his life. I was curious if anyone else has been having similar mental comparisons with how they were raised versus how they’re doing it with their little one. In what way did your parents fail at raising you? What is one thing you wish your parents did differently when raising you? What could your parents have done better when raising you up? And what did your parents do the best? When did you realize your parents were bad at parenting?
