Who was or is your childhood hero?

In real life, my parents and my grandmother. I was Peter Pan for a while, and Captain X, and my cat, and probably others. In fiction, there were many, I suppose, though I don’t know that many stand out as something I’d call “my hero”. I wasn’t particularly into fictional “hero” personalities. I liked Tintin a lot, and Emma Peel. Adam West’s Batman was pretty good. I liked Speed Racer and Racer X when I was 4 or 5. I am 75 now and I am sure very few of you will be able to remember my childhood heroes (Lol).
There were not any TV Sci-Fi series on in the 50s, in fact TV was just beginning to take off in the UK.
Because of this I had to rely on comics and radio.
My hero on the radio was Captain ‘Jet’ Morgan played by Andrew Faulds. The series was called Journey Into Space.
My comic heroes were actually two. One was Dan Dare in the Eagle comic and the other was Desperate Dan which was in the comic The Dandy. The Dandy is still available but it is on available online now. Jack LaLanne. We only got one channel on our black & white TV when I was a kid. Jack LaLanne was on the the only channel. I use to do the exercises along with Jack LaLanne. I remember that people use to make jokes about him. But he was like the father of the the physical fitness awareness movement. He was also a father figure for me in my young life that I admired.
