Do u believe Christopher Columbus should be celebrated ? 🤔 ⛵

Well they say he was a drunk who abused women and stole jewelry. Wait a minute.
Today is Christopher Columbus Day.
But because of the latest discovery about him in the US we call this Indigenous People day. How do you feel about that 🤔
Should Christopher Columbus be celebrated at all. The banks and post offices are closed now. Gee thanks Chris.
Comments. 😂

I dont know about celebrating but should be acknowledged for sure. Tired of people trying to ignore history because they dont like what happened during it.
the times were different back during that time for sure and as people dont like hearing it but the strong overtook the weak.
It is what it is and nothing can change the past, well except for those who try to rewrite it anyway

@Torsten No. The strong thought they were strong and now they are done. God always wins.🙂

@Zonuss well if they were not strong, they would never have dominated over others now would they? Everyone is "done" in the end. That does not change the fact that in the past most did horrendous things to one another and if indigenous people had the means to take over others during that time they would have done the exact same thing and i call BS to anyone who says otherwise

@Torsten

No, I disagree. The Indigenous people would not have gone out and conquered anyone or forced their religion on them.
The Polynesian people came from somewhere else, the Native Americans came from somewhere else and didn't kill or enslave anyone or feel the need to do so.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@calicuz its easy to say that because they never did but again if they had the means to do so, I dont believe they would not have done the same during that time period
Torsten · 36-40, M
@calicuz also Native Americans I believe did have slaves at a time. Not all obviously but some did

@Torsten

Many Native American tribes were great warriors, the Polynesians were great warriors, the Aztec, the Maya, were all great warriors, yet none set out to conquer the world.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@calicuz because they did not have the means to do so. They did some horrendous stuff themselves though to others.
did they try to conquer the world? no
would they have if they could? maybe

I honestly believe when people think back of the past, they think people back during those times thought like people do today, when in fact that is not the case.
nobody were real saints and people did what they could to survive and more so to live comfortably and that was mostly always at others expense

looking back at it all now, its clear to see it was all barbaric really but times were different
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@Torsten Nobody dominates when you are already done. You really do not wanna go there today. It might hurt your feelings. 🙂
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@calicuz It is because they were not interested. Colonizer mentality. Its too deep for this site here. 🙂

@Torsten This notion is false. The Egyptians were not indigenous. But they definitely got involved in a deal that ended their empire. Let us just say some celestial beings were involved. But even they were not obsessed with world domination. They wanted to protect their territory from the outside world.
