Have you ever had a bad flight?
What has been your worst experience flying in a plane? What’s the worst flight experience you’ve ever had? What is the worst scare you have ever had while flying? Have you ever had a kid behind you on an airplane kicking the seat the entire flight? Yesterday the plane I was on hit some very serious turbulence and dipped severely twice. People yelled and I grabbed my seat. What is your scariest or most frightening moment on an airplane?
We were flying from Moscow to NYC and it happened just minutes from JFK over land. After a 10 hour flight with little or no turbulence this time it was extremely severe and the fact that we were visibly over land made it scarier. I had one of those Hail Mary landings coming into Berlin a few weeks ago Wild crosswinds, the plane being slammed in every direction, and the occasional updraft seemingly knocking us off course. I saw someone a row or two in front of me making the sign of the cross. Now I am a very seasoned traveler and one who has a somewhat fatalistic take on life, best summed up as: ‘You can’t control that unexpected calamity that might just end your life”. Which is why I try to keep things as interesting as I can for myself. Given that, did I feel just a tad uneasy when the plane was rocking and rolling on its descent? Of course I did. Just as I was impressed by the skill of the Air France pilots when it came to getting us out of that serious turbulence and on to terra firma. But like all momentary hints of impending disaster this once receded as soon as our wheels were on the tarmac. To quote Mark Twain: ‘I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened’.
But what did happen once on the ground was – I waited over ninety minutes for my suitcase to arrive. Life is full of minor ‘merdique’ moments like this one. Flight attendants, have you ever caught passengers performing sexual acts on the plane? What are some of your craziest/funniest stories? Flight Attendents, what was the most terrifying experience that you had while on the job? Who was the worst and scariest person to have sat next to you on a flight? When have you flirted with a flight attendant and succeeded? What is the naughtiest thing you have done with an air hostess? What’s the worst/hardest flight experience you’ve ever had?

I’m sure this won’t compare to a lot of people but just recently I had a pretty crazy journey. What was supposed to be slightly under 8 hours turned out to be 9.5 hours due to a holding pattern that was turbulent (due to bad weather everywhere), a 40 minute diversion, 2.5-3 hours of refueling and waiting in the diversion airport, and then a 40 minute flight back. On top of all this, the flight had been delayed 3 hours in the original destination. We spent almost 13 hours on this plane. Honestly, it was a funny and memorable time, but in the moment it was rough af. What’re your experiences?
