Have u ever been through a natural disaster before π₯ βοΈ π§οΈ π
Greetings. How are you all doing today? Well we are currently dealing with a hurricane here in the US as we speak. And even if it is a moderately powerful storm it is still a threat. How many of you have ever been through a natural disaster before. That includes hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, [b]volcano eruptions, dust storms, mudslides, floods, heat waves, fires, etc. Tell us about it. Best story wins. π π
Yes. Having originally lived on Maui, I've been through volcano eruptions and hurricanes. Here in California, hurricanes, earthquakes, and now heatwaves. While visiting a friend in Ohio a number of years ago, we were close to a tornado. Luckily, it was a small wind storm for them compatibly, but still, there was a lot of damage.
Yes, last summer we were closely surrounded by a huge wildfire that lasted 2 months, we were on and off evacuation alert, was scary felt like what Armageddon will be like and lots of people lost their homes. Then in November heavy rains caused major flooding and landslides wiping out all our highways. π¨
The coolest one was an ice storm back in the 90βs. It rained and froze for days until every branch, every blade of grass was coated in thick ice. Everything was breaking and shattering. The windshield of my moms car froze and broke and we would listen to the trees snapping all day. A week without power we were heating our little house and warming soup on a kerosene heater. It was incredibly beautiful but a lot was lost.
I feel so bad for the people of Florida! I hope you are all safe and the clean up happens as quickly as possible.
We don't get many natural disasters where I live. Most frequent are ice storms where we lose power from downed trees.
I lost power for 6 days during the Christmas Holidays 2013. That was more rough than I thought it would be; the people of Florida will have a much longer wait.
