Do you ever wonder if you met someone in a different time and place things would have worked out?

I had someone that I cared deeply for, and sadly, we met in a somewhat toxic environment. It was incredibly fast-paced, and the rules were very strict about what one could and couldn't do while interacting with one another.

Sadly, because of this, the relationship didn't flourish as well as it could have if we met elsewhere. I always think about what could have been if we met in a totally different place. Would we still be friends even today?
