The Dollar Tree is now the $5 Tree.I think this is a good idea for the business. Besides why not put higher quality products that are in high demand in your store. Wouldn't you do it for a few dollars more. Comments please. What do you think. ☺️ 🖥️ 🎧
i went there this week & turns out everything in the store is now $1.25. lol so i guess that's inflation for you. but there's some useful stuff there if you need in a pinch. it's fun to walk the aisles sometimes & pick out a few random things, but i don't shop there too often. i think most people would be fine with the $5 thing. i do miss the days when you could buy something for less than $5. i hope it doesn't turn into the 5-Dollar Tree. lol.
Yes, my 11 yr old asked a while back, "Why is it called Dollar Tree when everything costs more than a dollar?" Most items are $1.25. But you are correct, why shouldn't they offer better products at a little higher price. You can't find much at Walmart for 5 bucks.
Many times but have never paid more than $1.25 for anything. I have been going to a discount store in Oklahoma City that sells Amazon, Kohl’s, Aldi’s, Target, etc. returns. I went yesterday and it was $2 day and got a few items. I got a pound of Darjeeling black tea, another pack of crumpet rings, 2 large jars of Nutella, and a big pack of popsicle sticks, a bag of Three Sisters Kicking Horse coffee beans, and a bottle of peppermint essential oil.
@Zonuss It’s rare that I go to one. I usually don’t find what I want. I do go to Dollar Tree pretty often. But the Family Dollar here, the customers smell like cigarettes. I’ve only been there a couple times.
I like to buy writing paper and blank notecards for my pen pals. When my kids were young I bought them the printing and math workbooks. Sometimes I find decent books there too. Party supplies, garden rocks, some cute things
Their toys always break though within five minutes
in this life...... you get what you pay for. if you pay a dollar for something........ most likely, you wound up with some cheap ass shit. five bucks will get you something at least a bit better.
@YourMomsSecretCrush Ha. I bet. I admit they do have some good quality kitchen utensils and work tools at the Dollar Tree . I bought a one dollar pocket knife from there and it's pretty decent.
@MarineBob I guess it’s hit or miss buying entire pallets. That’s why I just like to spend a couple hours picking through the piled up tables at the discount store. I never pay more than $5 for anything and yesterday it was $2 day and I got 7 items. I have never gone on a Tuesday but want to, it’s a $1 day and a lady told me that was her favorite day to shop there.
There are a few staples that I buy at the Dollar Tree. Aluminum foil sheets, bleach, cleaning products, cards, wrapping paper, oven mitts ... maybe the odd stationary products.
It would really annoy me if they decided to increase their products more than the $1.25.
@Roundandroundwego Inflation is a scam. I remember when they said that the food and gas prices from the last recession would never change. But it did. It all goes by spending and how good the economy is. It's always up and down.
@Zonuss Inflation is just Wall Street being "competitive.". It's almost a "spin the wheel" to cover the results of market manipulation. "Ukraine", "wages", or "government regulation" are some of the more popular excuses.
You can thank Comrad Biden for the shitty economy that made Dollar Tree raise it's prices. Still a good store for cheap makeup and perfume. Don't forget your bottle of Pepsi.

@Zonuss but he is in charge of the USA. If he'd pull his head out of his ass and reinstall all the things Trump did for us things would get a whole lot better. But you are right Biden isn't in charge. He is just a puppet.
