How often do you go food-shopping?

How often do you go grocery shopping?
Most blogs seem to recommend weekly or biweekly shopping trips. However, I can't make that work, because I don't have a car and don't want to carry a week's worth of food for two in my backpack. I'd rather go to the supermarket on my way home after work, and buy a small amount every day or every other day.
What's your preferred solution? I saw somewhere that people should be given specific instructions, not just told to practice "social distancing". The recommended advice was "stay inside. Go to the grocery store once a week". This has me wondering if that's less frequent than people normally go. Growing up my family would go to the "commissary" (the grocery store on a military base) about once a month and buy tons of food at a time. Now a days I get food about once every two weeks, but my employer provides free meals so I don't have to cook much.
Neither of these situations are typical, but what is? Does your average family go grocery shopping every day to pick up whatever they're going to make that night? how often do you go grocery shopping? I live alone most of the time and I live in an urban environment where I can walk to grocery stores. So ... I end up buying 1-2 items every day or every other day (like I'll buy produce as I need it). I don't feel like this is normal... can you share with me your approach towards buying groceries? How frequently do you buy groceries? How often do you guys go to the grocery store?
I find myself having to go almost every week with how much I’m eating now. Well more accurately convincing my mom to go every week. Seems kinda excessive but that’s coming from someone who hardly ever used to eat. How often do you go grocery shopping? Monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, daily? Why? How well does it work for you and your budget/food waste? How much do you spend on your food shop? How often do you go? How big is your household?
My partner and I spend about £50 average every week and a half/two weeks and we don’t know what the average household food shop is! Does anyone else do this? I don’t know how people can plan their dinners days in advance. My cravings change everyday. One night it’ll be pasta, the next pork chops. I grocery shop every day after work for the ingredients, unless I happen to have them on hand. I think it’s a good thing. The meals are always very fresh, I usually come home with a new spice or unexpected ingredient, and even get ideas for the next night. I probably spend more per week on groceries than a lot of people who take the time to responsibly plan their weekly meals but I enjoy the drive to the store and the process of buying groceries. Plus money isn’t an issue. Am I weird for doing this? People without cars, how often do you shop for groceries and how do you get them home? I find that I get super motivated, go to the store, buy all the fresh foods and then they go bad super quick, which leads me to just eating out for lunch or dinner. I've tried shopping everyday too but then I just pick up whatever I want to eat at the moment because I am usually hungry by that time. I think my mental game is weak honestly.
Anyways, how often do you guys go food shopping? What do you find works best for you? How often do you go grocery shopping?
Do you plan a weeks worth of food? A few days? Just that day? I mean, how many times in a week do you go to food shops to buy something? How often do you go food shopping?
Do you get a little bit every day? Do you get a bigger shop periodically (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, ...?) and then smaller shops in between?
Do you get a bigger shop periodically with no smaller shops in between?
Something else? And how do you get the shopping to your home?
😔
Almost never.
